The New PTE Academic Exam Format

From this November 16, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) academic will be two hours long instead of three hours. There are no significant changes in the exam format, but there will be fewer tasks than before.
PTE now becomes the most convenient English proficiency test and, it is to encourage people to take PTE instead of other language tests that are somehow difficult to pursue.
Shorter test – Less Stress:
The first change that is going to happen is the time duration of the PTE exam. Exam time will reduce to two hours from three hours that would be easier & convenient for the test takers to attempt.
The time for each part has been reduced. Here is the snapshot of the new test format:
Easy Preparation:
In the new test pattern, there will be no change or addition in your preparation efforts. Since all of the question types are the same, you will be able to practice in the same manner or time you were putting for the 3 hours test.
Speaking & Writing Section Changes:
There are a few tasks that have changed in the speaking & writing section. The YELLOW marked tasks are altered in the picture below, including; Describe Image task, Retell Lecture, Answer the short question, and summarize the written text.
Reading Section Changes:
There are only “multiple choice type questions” changed from 3 questions to two questions. The altered portion is highlighted in the picture below:
Listening Section Changes:
The listening section is the lengthiest part of the PTE exam. It has nine tasks in total, and five tasks have been altered in the new format, including; Summarize spoken text, multiple-choice type questions, highlight correct summary, and select missing words.

Conclusion:
PTE new test format will bring a lot of efficiency for the test takers. It will improve the quality of content, and PTE Academics can provide a more enhanced quality of English proficiency to the users.
